Rotary Int. President Gary Huang has asked all clubs to "shine a light on Rotary. If Rotarians don't talk about their work, people will never know about it."
Like our club in Eagle River, we are compassionate, like-minded people who care about enriching the lives of everyone around us, in our local community and around the world.
We do it all, from major local projects to addressing global problems like illiteracy, hunger, disease and a lack of clean water. Rotary has led the fight to eradicate Polio for over 30 years. We strive to maintain high ethical standards in both our professional and personal lives.
Most people know about us from the Youth Exchange Program and our
numerous financial commitments to community projects. Over the last 85 years, nearly every major project undertaken in the Eagle River area has been aided by members of the Rotary Club.
Just last month local Rotarians donated over $2,000 to the Food Pantries in Eagle River, Three Lakes, Phelps-Land O'Lakes. When Rotarians enrich the lives of others, we share a gift that was given to us when we were invited to join this club. Rotary is what you make of it. Because Rotarians come with different backgrounds and different interests, they have a Rotary Style. For example, some are World Travelers, others are Rotary Boosters, some are Born Leaders, some are Mentors, many are Wallet Openers (generous givers), others are Party Animals and most can be described as Worker Bees.
We are only as strong as our fellow Rotarians. To learn more, call Club President Chris Stark at (715) 479-3651.
