Each year the Rotary Club of Eagle River sponsors educational and humanitarian projects throughout our communities. Some of these projects include volunteer help for local events such as Festival of Flavors, Klondike Days, and Cranberry Fest.
Donations were made to the Rotary Club of San Felipe in Mexico for nutritional supplements.
Rotary launched its polio eradication program in 1985, and in 1988 helped launch the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Rotary members have since contributed more than AUD 1.3 billion (USD 1.2 billion) and countless volunteer hours to protect more than two billion children in 122 countries from polio.
Our Club offers two $1,000.00 scholarships to graduates of Northland Pines High School, Three Lakes High School and/or Phelps High School. For more information, contact guidance at NPHS.
Ambassadorial Scholarships and World Peace Fellowships are offered through Rotary International. See www.rotary.com for more information.
Our club created the Eagle River Rotary Club Foundation as means of encouraging contributions to our major fundraising events. The Foundation operates our annual Wine and Cheese Fundraiser, a major source of funds for Club projects. Because of the tax-exempt status of the Foundation, we are able to provide receipts to donors who support our programs, such as the recent construction of a well in a poverty-stricken area of Haiti.
